The 2023 Urban Green Low Carbon Scene Demonstration Base is Open for Application!

 

The Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum, the only forum in the green development field that has received continuous guidance from the National Development and Reform Commission and has been held for ten successive sessions, has yielded fruitful results. It has evolved into a prominent emblem of Shenzhen’s green and low carbon development. In our unwavering commitment to advance the growth of urban green and low carbon industries, during the 2022 Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Forum and Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum, through a voluntary application, thorough material review, and expert evaluation process, the first batch of eight urban green low carbon scene demonstration bases were selected . These bases were officially awarded and made significant contributions by demonstrating their effects, propagating the green and low carbon ideology, and sharing experiences related to green and low carbon development.

      The 2023 Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Forum and Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum intend to continue the open solicitation for the second batch of annual activity proposals for urban green low carbon scene demonstration bases. Here are the related details:

I. Content of Solicitation

  We are seeking annual activity proposals for urban green low carbon scene demonstration bases that can demonstrate substantial economic, social, and ecological benefits in the fields of clean energy, industrial energy efficiency, green transportation, green buildings, and low carbon technologies, with emphasis significant economic, social, and ecological benefits and outstanding demonstration effects  

II. Criteria for Application

  Applicants should ideally meet the following basic criteria:

  (1) Enterprises, public institutions, social organizations, private non-enterprises and other institutions registered and legally established in Shenzhen (including the Shenzhen-Shantou special cooperation zone), possessing independent legal personality, and actively involved in the transition towards green and low carbon development, with a certain level of recognition and influence in the respective fields.

  (2) Those without violating national, provincial, or municipal joint disciplinary policies and regulatory systems and are not listed as joint disciplinary objects for dishonesty.

  (3) Those that can provide the necessary venue, facilities, equipment, financial backing, and relevant management systems to conduct green and low carbon related activities, along with the ability to appoint dedicated staff to manage scene demonstration base-related activities.

  The proposed plan includes a minimum of eight activities, including but not limited to professional seminars, investment roadshows, industrial cooperation, and public education, scheduled to take place from October 2023 to September 2024.

  (1) Professional Seminars: Invite government officials, research institutions, reputable companies, industry organizations, associations, and experts and scholars to share and discuss policies, industry development, and the latest research results in professional fields such as energy, industry, transportation, and construction.

  (2) Project Roadshows: Concentrate on energy conservation, environmental protection, clean technologies, and clean energy. Invite venture capital institutions, innovation and entrepreneurship projects, industry experts, and others to participate, promoting the effective connection of technology, products, projects, and services with capital. This will drive the commercialization and industrialization of green and low carbon innovation technologies.

  (3) Industrial Cooperation: In the field of green and low carbon industries such as energy, industry, transportation, construction, and carbon trading, promote the signing of strategic cooperation agreements between enterprises, enterprises and the government, and enterprises and universities. This will enhance collaborative interaction and facilitate industrial cooperation and exchange.

  (4) Public Education: Aimed at the general public, disseminate green and low carbon concepts through lectures, exhibitions, interactive games, and other methods.

  III. Application Period

  October 7, 2023 - November 7, 2023

  IV. Application Method

  Applying entities are required to complete the “Annual Activity Proposal Application Form for Urban Green Low Carbon Scene Demonstration Bases” (Seed the attachment) according to the provided guidelines and submit it to the email address lsfzc@fgw.sz.gov.cn with the name “Application Unit + Demonstration Base” for uniform identification. Please submit relevant reports, promotional materials, certificates, videos, or other supporting documents if any.

  V. Expert Evaluation

  After the application period ends, the commission will organize experts to evaluate the activity proposals and summaries submitted by the applying entities. A list of selected urban green low carbon scene demonstration bases will be prepared, and the results will be publicly announced on the commission’s official website.

  VI. Results Announcement and Activity Implementation

  Based on the publicized results, the commission will confirm the list of selected bases and officially bestow upon them the title of “Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum Urban Green Low Carbon Scene Demonstration Base”. The demonstration bases will execute the relevant organizational and implementation work as per their submitted activity proposals.
