The Seventh Session

On August 29, 2019, the 2019 City Green Development Forum and the 7th Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum opened in Shenzhen, where industry elites, experts and scholars from many countries and regions engaged in dialogues around the theme of “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Green Development: New Opportunities, New Challenges, New Engines”. Liu Yanhua, Counsellor of the State Council and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ren Shuben, Director of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, Ai Xuefeng, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, and Yang Liwei, a super astronaut and member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), were present at the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

On August 29, the 2019 BlueSky Award Ceremony in Global Green and Low-carbon Field was held at the Shenzhen Capital Market Institute. The BlueSky Award is divided into the Pioneer City BlueSky Award and the Prominent Person BlueSky Award. Three people, Du Xiangwan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Stephan Köhler, the first director of the German Energy Agency, and Park Won-soon, mayor of Seoul, South Korea, won the Prominent Person BlueSky Award; and Wuhan (China), Chenzhou (China), Kyoto (Japan), and Bonn (Germany) won the Pioneer CityBlueSky Award.

On August 29, 2019, five major projects were signed and released at the Seventh Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum, namely: the Release Ceremony of Green Circular Cities Coalition, the Launching Ceremony of the 2019 TopsGreen Award (China Green Home Award), the Signing Ceremony of PHCER Strategic Cooperation, and the Inauguration of Spark Innovation Technology Application Promotion Centre. Wu You, Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipal Government, and Lin Ping, Vice President of Shenzhen Central Sub-branch of the People’s Bank of China, attended the ceremony.
