2022 Review of Urban Green Low Carbon Scene Demonstration Base in Eight Cities(Part 2)

Shenzhen Pingshan Smart Park Green Rail Transit

The Shenzhen Pingshan Smart Park Green Rail Transit is located within the BYD Pingshan Smart Park in the Pingshan District of Shenzhen City, running in an east-west direction. It connects core areas such as residential zones, production areas, and office areas, with a total length of approximately 5 kilometers. It commenced operations in 2019 and has been operating safely for three years. The entire line is elevated and consists of five stations: Jiangling Station, Ximen Station, Sijiao Station, Liujiao Station, and Longping Station.

The average distance between stations is about 300 meters, and each train car can accommodate 50-70 people. The maximum operating speed is 80 km/h. The rail pillars vary in height from a minimum of 5 meters to a maximum of 30 meters, with pillar diameters ranging from 0.7 meters to 1.2 meters, increasing in size with height, spanning 25 to 30 meters, and rail pillars from1 to 1.2 meters high. This rail transit project cost approximately 1 billion RMB per kilometer, had a construction period of one year, and operates at significantly lower costs compared to other low-capacity tram systems.

The Shenzhen Pingshan Smart Park Green Rail Transit project offers several advantages: it has a short construction period, follows the principles of “four highs and two lows” (high safety, high intelligence, high adaptability, high aesthetics, low energy consumption, and low noise), is fast, efficient, and cost-effective, boasts multiple patents and certifications, and provides an excellent passenger experience. Furthermore, it incorporates advanced technologies such as autonomous driving systems, automatic positioning, facial recognition, broadband clusters, and visual intercom. The primary function of this line is to alleviate traffic jam within the industrial park, providing intelligent, green, multi-dimensional, and efficient transportation options for park employees. It significantly enhances the convenience of travel for park employees. Moreover, it serves as a rail transit demonstration line, conducting tests during construction for extreme turning conditions and uphill conditions, which ensure the safe operation of the rail transit system and its ability to meet the diverse transportation needs of complex scenarios, and enable low-capacity rail transit to function like capillaries, efficiently diverting traffic demands within the park.

Das Intelligent Building

Das Building is a 5A-grade office building soaring above 200 meters in height. With a floor area of approximately 100,000 square meters, it features 40 floors above ground and 4 underground levels, with a floor height of 4.5 meters and an overall usage rate of 80%. Its unique design with four cornerless facades provides unobstructed panoramic views, extending the office space limitlessly. Serving as the new headquarters base for Dashi Intelligence, it represents a benchmark case in the field of smart city development. Additionally, it is the first ultra-high-rise building in China to achieve “dual standards and triple certifications,” with the dual standards referring to green building design and operation standards and the triple certifications comprising the highest-level Platinum certification from LEED in the United States, a three-star rating from China's Green Building Evaluation, and a Platinum certification from Shenzhen's Green Building Evaluation.

Designed by CAE Academician Meng Jianmin, Das Building adheres to the concept of “inherent design” and incorporates cutting-edge intelligent building designs in areas such as cooling source equipment rooms, equipment operations, smart access control, and smart offices. It extensively uses Dashi’s independently developed IoT products, creating a highly intelligent and energy-efficient experience. Leveraging Das's AIJ IoT control platform, Das Building achieves the “three 25s”: reducing building energy consumption by 25%, decreasing property personnel by 25%, and increasing building occupancy rates by 25%.

In line with its commitment to social responsibility and to set industry standards, Das Building became the first voluntarily carbon-neutral green building in Shenzhen.

Antuo Mountain Headquarters Building Nearly Zero Carbon Park

The Antuo Mountain Headquarters Building Nearly Zero Carbon Park construction project is one of the low-carbon core pilot projects in accordance with Futian District's Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality planning. It is located next to Beihuan Avenue in Futian District, with a land area of approximately 18,086.83 square meters and a total construction area of 175,485 square meters (130,485 square meters above ground and 45,000 square meters below ground). The park has a plot ratio of 9.76. Comprising three buildings (A, B, and C), it serves various functions, including offices, training rooms, laboratories, exhibition halls, staff dormitories, cafeterias, and gyms.

The Antuo Mountain Headquarters Building is a renovation project for an existing building. Renovation work began in March 2021 and was completed in October 2022. The project incorporates advanced building-integrated photovoltaics, AC-DC microgrid architecture, smart energy management, scenario-based energy-saving design, advanced energy storage systems, and carbon offset measures in a comprehensive solution. Through innovation and exploration, the project has achieved “five self-capabilities”: self-generation, self-emergency, self-optimization, self-connectivity, and self-trading. These capabilities have breathed new life into the building, transforming it from a green building into an ultra-low energy and nearly zero-energy building, ultimately evolving into a photovoltaic and energy storage-based flexible structure.

It features a total installed photovoltaic capacity of 3.089 MW, including 2.83 MW of BIPV photovoltaic glass on the roof and 0.26 MW of BAPV on the roof. The energy storage capacity is 2 MWh, capable of producing and absorbing approximately 1.466 million kWh of photovoltaic green energy annually. Key highlights of the project: annual photovoltaic green energy production of 1.46 million kWh, an annual electricity savings rate of 51%, a reduction in annual carbon emissions by over 60%, a renewable energy utilization rate of over 26%, and a comprehensive energy-saving rate exceeding 60%.

Xinqiao Shijiu Nearly Zero Carbon Demonstration Community

The Nearly Zero Carbon and Sustainable Development Demonstration Community project is located in the core area of the International Low Carbon City, south of Tangqiao West Road, north of Niqiangpai Road, east of 234 Township Road, and west of Xinqiao Shijiu Yuechi Footpath. It has a total construction area of about 16,000 square meters and is home to approximately 200 residents.

The project adheres to the principle of “people-centered,” focuses on the two main themes of “nearly zero carbon” and “sustainable development,” and is built around three dimensions: zero carbon cells, zero carbon units, and zero carbon communities. The project encompasses five major areas: clean energy, green buildings, resource recycling, cloud carbon smart platform, and green transportation; six standards: energy balance, resource recycling (3R), intelligence, human-centric design (comfort, convenience, inclusiveness), environmental friendliness, and cost-effectiveness. The goal is to create a replicable and promotable zero carbon and sustainable development demonstration. As of now, the community generates approximately 630 tons of basic carbon emissions annually. Various energy-saving and carbon-reduction equipment and technologies within the community can achieve a reduction of about 580 tons of carbon emissions. The remaining 50 tons of carbon emissions will be offset through the “Carbon-Benefitting Pingdi” carbon account, which will involve the release of green and low-carbon activities. Residents will participate in activities, earn carbon credits, and exchange them for low-carbon goods, thereby promoting zero-carbon living.
