A government and business delegation from Uzbekistan embarked on an inspiring low-carbon journey in Shenzhen on Oct. 29, gaining first-hand insights into the city’s pioneering achievements in sustainable innovation and industrial transformation.

10月29日，乌兹别克斯坦政府与企业代表团在深圳开启了一场收获满满的低碳之旅，实地探寻了这座城市在可持续创新与产业转型方面的前沿成果。

The visit formed part of the 2025 Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Forum & Shenzhen National Low-Carbon City Forum , which showcases the city’s progress in developing and applying green and low-carbon technologies.

此次参访是2025碳达峰碳中和论坛暨深圳国家低碳城论坛的重要环节，展示了深圳在绿色低碳技术研发与应用方面的进展。

From green packaging to circular beauty

从绿色包装到循环之美

The delegation’s first stop was Shenzhen Beauty Star, a national leader in cosmetic packaging and new materials. The company has helped draft more than 40 national and industry standards and supplies over 90% of the world’s top beauty and skincare brands.

代表团的首站是中国化妆品包装新材料领军企业——深圳市通产丽星科技集团有限公司。该公司参与起草了40多项国家和行业标准，并为全球超过90%的顶级美妆护肤品牌提供包装解决方案。

Through innovations in eco-friendly materials and circular packaging solutions, Beauty Star is injecting sustainability and creativity into the global beauty industry.

通过环保材料创新与循环包装设计，丽星正以可持续性与创造力，驱动全球美妆行业迈向新发展。

“I was very impressed,” said Ulugbek Mukhtarov from Vostok Merkuriy Company. “We are considering further cooperation. In Uzbekistan, waste management is also becoming a serious issue. Recycling and circular economy approaches are strategically important for both business and the environment.”

Waste-to-energy landmark blends ecology and architecture

The next destination was the Longgang Energy Ecological Park, one of China’s largest waste-to-energy plants. Covering 542,000 square meters, the park integrates a massive rooftop photovoltaic system, turning the facility into a producer of clean electricity.

接下来，代表团考察了龙岗能源生态园，这里是中国最大的垃圾焚烧发电厂，占地54.2万平方米。园区屋顶装配了大规模光伏系统，使发电厂本身成为一个清洁电力的生产者。

Its design draws inspiration from traditional Hakka walled villages, symbolizing harmony between technology and nature. Recognized by Yale University’s 2023 publication About Architecture as one of the 55 most representative modern buildings worldwide, the park stands as both an engineering marvel and an environmental milestone.

其设计灵感源于传统客家围屋，象征着科技与自然的和谐共生。该园区曾获选耶鲁大学2023年出版的《建筑之道》，被评为全球55座最具代表性的现代建筑，这既是一项工程奇迹，也是环境治理的一个里程碑。

“I saw many factories that are transforming the world,” said Mukhtarov. “This one is the largest and most environmentally friendly — with smart design and zero emissions. It’s one of the most beautiful architectural achievements I’ve ever seen.”

穆赫塔罗夫赞叹道：“我参观过不少为世界带来深刻变革的工厂，但这家的规模是最大的，也最环保，设计智能而且还零排放，这是我见过最漂亮的建筑杰作之一。”

Urban farming brings ‘sky farms’ to life

城市农业：打造“空中农场”

The journey concluded at Shenzhen Haizhuo Biotechnology, a company pioneering AI-driven vertical farming that integrates agriculture into urban life. Using IoT systems and hydroponic technology, Haizhuo transforms idle rooftops into productive “sky farms”—lush green spaces that cool buildings, cut energy consumption, and absorb carbon emissions.

代表团的最后一站，是深圳海卓生物科技有限公司。这家公司开创了由AI驱动的垂直农业，将农耕融入城市生活。通过物联网系统和水培技术，海卓将闲置屋顶变成富有生机的“空中农场”——这些郁郁葱葱的绿色空间既能为建筑降温，还能降低能耗、吸收碳排放。

“This technology really impressed us,” said Islom Sadullaev from Titan Bukhara company. “We plan to introduce similar systems in Uzbekistan.”

Both Beauty Star and Haizhuo Biotechnology were named as 2025 demonstration bases by the Shenzhen National Low-Carbon City Forum, while the Longgang Energy Ecological Park received the same recognition in 2023.

通产丽星与海卓生物均被2025深圳国家低碳城论坛评为年度示范基地，龙岗能源生态园则已在2023年获得示范基地认定。

Since 2022, the forum has selected 36 green and low-carbon demonstration bases, spanning energy, construction, industry, transportation, finance, and education. Together, they represent a practical and visionary “Shenzhen Solution” to global sustainable development.

自2022年以来，论坛已评选出36个涵盖能源、建筑、工业、交通、金融、教育等领域的绿色低碳场景示范基地，共同构建起一个切实可行且极具前瞻性的“深圳方案”，为全球可持续发展提供借鉴。

As Mukhtarov reflected, “Cities are growing fast, and energy issues are becoming more urgent. This visit gave us valuable ideas for the future.”
