5th low-carbon city forum to be held

 The Fifth Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum will be unveiled Sep. 7 and will run for two days, according to Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission.

Themed “Jointly Assume Responsibility for Climate Change and Jointly Promote Green and Low-Carbon Development,” the forum consists of one main forum, six parallel forums and other supporting activities. Over 1500 guests from home and abroad are expected to attend the forum.

Under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the People’s Government of Guangdong, the preparation work of the organizing committee is now in full gear, including sending invitation to senior executives, experts and scholars from international institutions such as the UN, EU and institutions from North America, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America. The main speakers have also been confirmed.

Sub-forums include South-South Cooperation Summit Forum on Climate Change, The Third Forum on Green and Low-carbon Development of Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration, Low-carbon City Forum, Energy Forum, Green Finance Forum and Entrepreneur Forum.

The supporting activities include a road show for the International Low-carbon and Clean Technology Exhibition, the launching ceremony for “Low-Carbon Pioneer” appraisal and selection, the release of Shenzhen Urban Green Map, the low-carbon development achievements of Shenzhen.

Sticking to the high-end, professional, international and effective standards, the Forum recruits from the general public to form high-quality service teams to provide professional service. During the Forum, the organizing committee of the forum will continue to apply the IT-based, intelligent and ecological means to present a green, low-carbon and environment-friendly “Shenzhen model.”
