The People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the Plan of Guangdong Province for the Implementation of the Work for Greenhouse Gas Emission Control during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period in order to carry out the spirit of the Notice of the State Council on the Work Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emission Control during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period (Guo Fa (2016) No.61), to continuously push forward the green and low-carbon development, to ensure the fulfillment of the obligatory indicators given by the state on controlling greenhouse gas emissions, to accomplish the goal of reducing the CO₂ emission per unit of GDP by 20.5 percent in 2020 compared with that of 2015 and having the total carbon emissions effectively controlled, as well as to promote the CO₂ emissions of Guangdong to be the first to reach the peak value in China.
