The Fifth Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum (ILCC) will be held in Shenzhen on September 7-8, Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission told the reporter of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.
Currently, the carbon trading in the market in Shenzhen is very active. By June 30, 2017, the total volume of Shenzhen carbon market quotas recorded 20.55 million tons, totaling a gross turnover of 660 million yuan (US$98.11 million) and ranking the city at the forefront of China.
The ILCC forum was initiated in 2013 and up to now four editions have been successfully held. The fifth edition of the forum, themed “Jointly Assume Responsibility for Climate Change and Jointly Promote Green and Low-Carbon Development,” consists of one main forum and six sub-forums.
The six sub-forums include the South-South Cooperation Summit Forum on Climate Change, The Third Forum on Green and Low-carbon Development of Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration, Low-carbon City Forum, Energy Forum, Green Finance Forum and Entrepreneur Forum.
The forum will adhere to the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, mainly focusing on such topics as the experience and practice for promoting South-South cooperation, the goals and paths of low-carbon city development, the opportunities and challenges of energy revolution, the innovation and practice of green finance system and the responsibility and undertaking of enterprises in low-carbon development. The forum will also feature a road show for the International Low-carbon and Clean Technology Exhibition.
